Tony Pladies, Vice President – Digital and Enterprise Architecture, Rite Aid
Tony Pladies seeks the next challenge as a CIO, CTO, or technology executive that drives results from investment to delivery. Tony is the Vice President for Digital and Enterprise Architecture including web, mobile applications, loyalty, personalization, and integrating enterprise technology as well as driving developer operations, analytics, cloud development, and quality.
Previously, Tony was Vice President and General Manager for JCPenney.com a $1.86B annual revenue business. He increased selling margin by 26% and improved site revenue in two years which enabled the sale of the business to private investors while increasing customer satisfaction by 51% and shifting external consulting spend to fund new highly agile insourced teams. This increased team accountability, improved employee satisfaction, and reduced delivery time by 37%.
Prior to that, Tony was the Vice President at Dell, Inc., responsible for Dell Technologies’ global Commerce Technology (Office of the CTO), supporting $74B USD in annual revenues across all lines of business. Prior to that, Tony lead Dell’s digital Platform team including Customer Account, Product, Catalog, Content, Search, Commerce Transactions, Order Management, Technology Enablement, Salesforce.com, and Developer Operations. His mission is to simplify the connection between Customers, Products, and Commerce by evolving the global platform with a 740+ member team to speed implementation, reduce integration, and empower innovation. Previously, Tony led all things data for Dell as Chief Data Officer where he was awarded the 2016 IDG CIO Hall of Fame Honoree for advanced analytics and financial forecasting. Starting off at Dell, Tony led dell.com for the Consumer Small-business IT Unit where he increased PC sales, delivered BitCoin digital currency, and built responsive mobile experiences. Additionally, Tony advised Dell’s Select Customer segment for online gaming and retail including premium brands such as Paddy Power Betfair Group, SportsBet, and Wayfair.
Prior to his work at Dell, Tony lead business transformation at Kohl’s Department Stores, the 3rd Largest US department store chain, with $18.4B annual revenue. As Vice President of Point of Sale and Customer Experiences, Tony implemented emerging digital technology across 1,146 stores integrating kohls.com eCommerce and immersive digital experiences based on technology used with the Golden State Warriors and Harrah's Entertainment. Additionally, Tony innovated Mobile Point of Sale, Buy Online Pickup In-Store, Digital Payment and Digital Displays with integrated RFID. Also, at Kohl’s, Tony was Vice President of Enterprise Services supporting Kohl’s 1,800 member IT department. In this capacity, Tony transformed the business of IT including the offices of Strategy, Governance, Enterprise Architecture, Project Management, Quality Management, Vendor Management, and Employee Learning/Development. The foundation of Tony’s career originated in demanding supply chains, inbound/outbound logistics, material handling automation e.g. Automated Storage Retrieval Systems and Conveyors), warehousing and manufacturing floor integration.
